How To Use Body Oil The Right Way
Learning how to use body oil the right way isn’t hard. If you want to have soft and moisturized skin, do you really want to use body oil or should you use body lotion? Is there any difference when it comes to body oil vs lotion? Is there a wrong way to use oil?
If you’re asking all of these questions, you’re in the right place. As it turns out, body lotion and oil are not the same things. For that reason, you can’t use them in the same ways either. Otherwise, your skin health could suffer rather than benefit from the hydration that these products can provide.
Before you learn how to use the best body oil available to you, you should first know that it has no water in it. After all, oil is oil. Lotion, on the other hand, can be full of water, sometimes up to 80%.
Of course, the last thing you want to do is pay a ton of money for a bottle of water for your skin. But the problem with it is that while it doesn’t use water as a filler, you can’t really use it on your skin without water as you can with lotion. Oil can keep your skin moisturized but it can’t add moisture. Instead, you will need to add moisture yourself before using any kind of body oil.
Fortunately, that’s not a difficult task.
How To Use Body Oil
Because body oil won’t do a good job of softening and moisturizing your skin without water, you should always use body oil after getting out of the bath or shower. The warm water will have already softened your skin and your skin cells will be drenched with water, especially after a bath. When you dry yourself off with a towel, try to pat your skin dry instead of drying it entirely.
Then, you can put the body oil on. This will ensure that there will still be some water on your skin when you put the oil on. You can also skip the drying process completely and put the oil directly off yourself, but keep in mind this can be messy and you will be dripping and slipping all over the place if you’re not careful.
You will always want to be conscious of how much oil you’re using. Using too much will be a waste because much of it will end up rubbing off on things like your chairs and other furniture. Using too little won’t do much to keep your skin moisturized. Applying the oil in a massage-like motion is a good way to make sure that the oil penetrates your skin.
An easy way to coat your body in oil is to add a few drops to a bath. You can do this with virtually any kind of oil whether it be coconut oil, olive oil, and so on. The oil will easily soak into your skin from the water and the oil will prevent your skin from getting too dry in the hot water. After using it for a few weeks or even a few days, you will find that your skin will be softer and smoother than ever.
